A typical LOWER BUCKTON New Year’s Eve Dinner

Lower Buckton Cocktails were served with Hot Leek Pastries

The creamy Soup was made from Henry’s home-grown Beetroot with Coriander and Shropshire Brown Bread sautéed in Olive Oil flavoured with Dill & Lemon Grass

The Fish Course was a salad of Curly Kale, picked from the vegetable garden at dusk, drizzled with honey, balsamic & olive oil dressing and layered with a Home-cured Gravadlax of organic Salmon

Warm home-made Soda Bread and Herefordshire Butter

Henry carved a Roasted Leg of Lower Buckton’s home-reared free-range Berkshire Pork at the table. It was accompanied by a Stuffing of Berkshire pork sausage-meat, Buckton Apples & Onions, home-dried Worcestershire raisins!

All the Vegetables were grown in Lower Buckton’s Kitchen Garden
Roast Potatoes & Parsnips; Sautéed Squash with garlic & fennel seeds Steamed Carrots & Green Beans; Leeks in Cheese Sauce

Lower Buckton’s Special Quince Jelly aided digestion!

Refreshing Gin & Tonic Jellies cleared the palates before moving onto cheese………

A platter of local Cheeses with Deepwood-Damson Chutney & homemade Oatcakes was passed around the table while Carolyn slaved in the kitchen assembling the puddings………..

Brown sugar Meringues with home-grown Raspberries and Almond Caramel with lashings of Organic Jersey Cream from the cows ‘down the road’

The pen-ultimate course was a Savoury of Scotch Woodcock……….

and then followed Lavazza coffee and Carolyn’s homemade Chocolates for those still with space to fill

Sparklers & Big Ben herald in the New Year with a not very harmonious rendition of auld lang syne to almost raise the roof!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
